In the 5th match of IPL 2019, Delhi Capitals (DC) would have a face to face with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at their home ground Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi. Now both the teams have got a winning start in this season and that must have definitely provided a boost to their morale. But this is the first match that the DC would be playing on their home ground and the first one for CSK away from theirs. It is noteworthy that DC had defeated CSK at the same venue in the last season.
Read on to know the details of the match, pitch conditions and other factors to decide on your own fantasy cricket team.
- Match: DC vs CSK
- Venue: Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi
- Time: 26th March 8 pm Local time (2:30 pm GMT)
Weather Report: The temperature would not soar high and would hover around 22 – 24 degree Celsius. There are no rains predicted but there would definitely be some dew and that can actually play an important role in the game.
- A little humid with dew
- No rains
These two teams have played against each other in total of 18 matches in IPL so far out of which 12 were won by CSK and 6 went to Delhi.
Pitch Report: The 22-yard track is a batsmen’s paradise so a score of around 180 would be surely gettable. Although it does not look like it would favour spinners but might just help slower bowlers.
Now that Lungi Ngidi is ruled out for the entire season and CSK are still scouting for his replacement, the only option remaining with them right now is David Willey who could be sent before the spin attack. If they do decide to rope in Willey it would be interesting to see which spinner they opt out for – Harbhajan or Tahir. On the other hand there is no news of Chris Morris joining the squad as yet; though he has reached India.
If the pitch turns out to be a sluggish one then CSK can go with Harbhajan Singh, Ravindra Jadeja and Imran Tahir their tremendous trio. On the other hand Lamichhane would be a better choice instead of Paul for the Capitals.
DC: Shreyas Iyer, Avesh Khan, Bandaru Ayyappa, Ankush Bains, Trent Boult, Shikhar Dhawan, Colin Ingram, Sandeep Lamichhane, Manjot Kalra, Amit Mishra, Chris Morris, Colin Munro, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, Sherfane Rutherford, Jalaj Saxena, Ishant Sharma, Prithvi Shaw, Nathu Singh, Keemo Paul, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Tewatia, Hanuma Vihari.
CSK: MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Dhruv Shorey, Murali Vijay, Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo, Faf du Plessis, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Kedar Jadhav, Raavindra Jadeja, David Willey, Mitchell Santner, Sam Billings, Chaitanya Bishnoi, N Jagadeesan, Monu Kumar, Karn Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir, Shardul Thakur, Mohit Sharma, Deepak Chahar, KM Asif.
The Probable XI
DC: Shreyas Iyer (C), Rishabh Pant (WK), Shikhar Dhavan, Keemo Paul, Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw, Colin Ingram, Kagiso Rabada, Ishant Sharma, Trent Boult, Amit Mishra.
CSK: MS Dhoni (C and WK), Shane Watson, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Faf du Plessis, Kedar Jadhav, Deepak Chahar, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh/Imran Tahir, Dwayne Bravo, David Willy.
Rishabh Pant scored a whopping 78 against the mighty Mumbai Indians making him a coveted player. While Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw are likely to open, Iyer and Ingram would follow.
It is very difficult to predict the winners of this match as both look strong and ready to roar. Though the team won the last match and the players are experienced it seems like Dhoni’s men would have to put an extra effort into batting given the fact that they took a lot of overs to chase a mere 71.
Rishabh Pant with his amazing 78 can be picked instead of Dhoni. Shreyas Iyer and Shane Watson can make any fantasy team flourish. Either Tahir or Harbhajan Singh along with Trent Boult can really make your bowling attack strong. All rounders like Kedar Jadhav or Axar Patel might just add the much needed niche in your dream team. But please remember that you need to take the provided credits into consideration and then select your fantasy team so you would need to adjust and change your lineup a bit depending on that.
